What happens next?

Before implantation, an assessment of the endometrium is always carried out. The clinician can then determine which method to apply based on the results obtained.

  • The spontaneous cycle : when the patient has natural cycles of satisfactory quality, it is possible to monitor the progress of the cycle without any specific treatment. In this way, the development and quality of the naturally obtained follicle can be monitored.
  • The stimulated cycle : certain conditions will require mild ovarian stimulation with scheduled triggering of ovulation. The appearance of the uterus will be monitored.
  • The substituted or artificial cycle : this method makes it possible to create an artificial cycle consisting of two stages. To do this, oestradiol and progesterone are combined with the supplementation treatments. The transfer will be carried out according to the age of the embryos (3 to 5 days) after ovulation has been triggered in the patient.

The timing as well as the quality of the transfer are decisive factors in the embryo transfer procedure.
